Winslow’s Media History Presented at Hubbell
The Winslow Centennial Committee and Winslow Historical Society continue celebrating the city’s history with “Nickel Night: How News Traveled Around Winslow.” Join us on Saturday, September 8, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Winslow Visitors Center/Hubbell Trading Post, 523 West 2nd Street, for this presentation by Winslow residents who have owned or worked for the city’s media outlets. Former free-lance writer Janice Henling will talk about the Winslow Mail’s first 50 years, and former reporter Juanita Walters will talk about its last 50 years. Loy Englehardt will talk about his years at Kino Radio, and other presenters will discuss the Reminder and the Scoop.
