WHS’s Historic Fire Truck in Christmas Parade

The Winslow Historical Society’s 1940 Ford Sitgreaves fire truck will be in the Annual Christmas Parade tomorrow! Our driver will be the Old Trails Museum’s dedicated Collections Volunteer, David Andreasen, and our “honorary rider” will be WHS President Emeritus Richard Randall. A group of auto enthusiasts have formed the Friends of the Fire Trucks in order to restore the Sitgreaves, as well as the 1926 LaFrance fire truck still owned by the City of Winslow. Both vehicles are authentic representations of fire trucks from their times, and we are fortunate to have these original pieces of Winslow history. There’s still work to be done on both trucks, so if you’d like to contribute to the cause, call the museum at 928-289-85861 for more information.
