OTM Receives Special Donation

The Old Trails Museum recently received a surprise $750 donation from the Phoenix Antiques, Bottles, and Collectables Club! The group originated in 1970 as the Pick & Shovel Antique Bottle Club, helping to preserve Arizona’s past by way of their interest in historic bottles. Over time the members expanded their interests and ultimately changed their name to more accurately describe their collections.

The PABCC’s monthly meetings are open to visitors and include raffle drawings as well as presentations by members or guest speakers. They also conduct annual trips to Arizona towns that are rich in antique stores. The group visited Winslow several years ago, staying at La Posada Hotel and visiting the Old Trails Museum while they were in town.

The PABCC holds an annual Antique Show the last weekend in February, when club members and antique dealers conduct sales and use some of the profits to fund donations to museums and historical societies in Arizona. This year, OTM joins the Mesa Preservation Foundation, P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center, Sunnyslope Historical Society, and the 1910 Gila County, AZ Sheriff’s Office and Jail in Globe in receiving PABCC’s generous donations.
