The Winslow Historical Society hosts its Annual Meeting this Wednesday, November 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. All are invited to this free event at the Winslow Visitors Center/Hubbell Trading Post. Whether you’re currently a WHS member or would simply like to find out more about membership benefits and museum activities, join us for refreshments and socializing; the Annual Meeting, with a brief update on museum plans and activities; and chances to win door prizes, to join or renew your WHS membership for 2012, and to purchase the new 2012 historical calendar, Territorial Town: Winslow, Arizona, from 1880 to Statehood.
For November’s Second Saturdays in Winslow, former employees Jim and Marilee Ervien, Nick Paul, and John Smith will explore the histories of Winslow’s lumber companies in their presentation, “Logs to Lumber,” at the Winslow Visitors Center/Hubbell Trading Post on Saturday, November 11, from 2 to 3 p.m. Second Saturdays are the Winslow Historical Society/Old Trails Museum’s year-long series of programs that explore Winslow’s diverse history in celebration of the Arizona State Centennial on February 14, 2012.
