Earliest Area Inhabitants Presented at Hubbell

The Winslow Historical Society and Winslow Centennial Committee continue their year-long series of programs celebrating the city’s history with “Life in Ruins: A History of the Early Native Americans and Settlers of the Region.” Join us on Saturday, March 10, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Winslow Visitors Center/Hubbell Trading Post, 523 West 2nd Street, when Homolovi State Park Ranger Kenn Evans will discuss two groups draw to the region by the Little Colorado River: the Hopi ancestors of the Homolovi villages from 1200 to 1400 A.D., and the historic Mormon settlements of 1876. Evans will also discuss the upcoming celebration of the 136th anniversary of the Mormon Colonization, and will have historic artifacts on display as well.
